Sassy’s Best Of The Best Romance Reads for 2015

Top Ten 2015

This has been an absolutely AWESOME year for me, especially when it comes to reading.  Starting this blog and also being a part of EDGy Reviews made my reading experience better.  I’ve made heaps of friends and acquaintances online and at Readers and Writers Down Under where I met some wonderful authors including the legendary Kristen Ashley.  One of the highlight of RWDU was getting to meet a fellow reader and blogger who also lives in Australia.  It’s amazing coming face to face with someone who I had spoken/chatted (online) with numerous times, who could look me in the eye and I could look her in the eye and she KNEW I liked to read smut.  People in my real world are not so open to talking about whether a book was good if the sexy times were lacking…or if it’s even worth reading if it doesn’t have a sex scene. I suddenly had people to discuss my feeling and thoughts with and why a book did or did not work.

I can confirm that all of my top reads for 2015 are romance and all of them have a decent amount of sexy times in them.  I read lots of different types of romance, so I’ve tried to cover my favourite genres within romance.

In no particular order –

Best Paranormal Read

Burn (Dark in You #1) by Suzanne Wright Burn by Suzzane Wright. Gave me everything I love in a paranormal romance.

Best Tear Jerker

The Air He Breathes (Elements, #1) by Brittainy C. Cherry The Air He Breathes by Brittainy C. Cherry. A hard story to read, but beautiful in its execution. Two people trying to move on from the devastating loss of partners.

Best Comfort Zone Blast

King (King, #1) by T.M. Frazier King by T.M. Frazier. This book was soooo far out of my comfort zone that I was bracing for impact from start to finish. Dragged me in and kept my attention.

Best Short Story/Novella

The Seduction of Lord Stone (Dashing Widows, #1) by Anna Campbell The Seduction of Lord Stone by Anna Campbell. This is a historical short story and one of the best short stories I’ve ever read. The author was able to give me everything I love in a historical romance, just in a little package.

Best New Adult

The Deal (Off-Campus, #1) by Elle Kennedy The Deal by Elle Kennedy. Until this story I was not a fan of NA. Elle Kennedy has an amazing ability to give us believable young characters who like to party, but have brains and ambitions as well. Love this series.

Best Kristen Ashley

Ride Steady (Chaos, #3) by Kristen Ashley Ride Steady by Kristen Ashley. Only a KA addict could have a best of KA category in her list. This one was my favourites because of the hero…JOKER WAS AWESOME!!! Carissa was pretty cool too.

Best Historical

The Highwayman (Victorian Rebels #1) by Kerrigan Byrne The Highwayman by Kerrigan Byrne. I really enjoyed this one. It was a sweet story about two children in an orphanage who “marry” each other. After being ripped apart they are reunited and must fight obstacles before they can live their HEA.

Best Series

The Guardians of the Realms (Books 1-3) by Setta Jay The Guardians of the Realms by Setta Jay. I’ve read 5 of them already and I’ve got 2 more to go. Some of them were release before 2015 but I decided to include the whole series as they have all been AWESOME!! Really HOT and EROTIC Paranormal Romance with a different warrior finding their mate in each story. They have this thing called the mating frenzy…hubba hubba 🙂
